TIMING BELT REPLACEMENT

The timing belt in your car is made out of tough rubber with grooves or teeth running along the inside edge. Timing is everything: once your belt shows signs of wear and tear, it will prevent all the parts of your car’s engine from working in sync. This could end up seriously damaging your engine. Early indications can be poor running and engine warning lights.

COOLING SYSTEM REPAIRS

A cooling system works by sending a liquid coolant through passages in the engine block and heads. As the coolant flows through these passages, it picks up heat from the engine. The heated fluid then makes its way through a rubber hose to the radiator in the front of the car.

Clutch and dual mass flywheel replacement

Normally the clutch smoothly releases in both directions. It may feel harder to press down, or does not release as easily as normal. When you depress the clutch and shift gears there will be some sounds like cogs are running against each other, a sort of grinding noise. This indicates it is time to get the clutch looked over by a professional.

Brake servicing and repairs

Over time, brakes will deteriorate and require replacements. There are many elements to braking systems including pads, calipers, disks, hoses and handbrake shoes. Most modern cars are fitted with ABS (Anti-lock Braking Systems) brakes as standard. Brakes get scored and corroded over time. Even though they may be within MOT specification, deteriorating brakes can effect driving ability and ability to stop in a safe manner.

STEERING AND SUSPENSION REPAIRS

The suspension system is a complex system of balanced components including Shock Absorbers, Road Springs, Ball Joints, Track Control Arms, Trailing Arms, Radius Arms and Torsion Bars. Not all of these components can be found on every vehicle, it depends on which type of suspension system is fitted.

The suspension system on a car or van is subject to a great deal of stress which means that it is one of the biggest causes of MOT Failure. We pride ourselves on being one of the most experienced garages in Widnes when it comes to repairing car suspension systems, so you can be sure that we'll have your car back on the road with the minimum of fuss, and at great prices should you have problems with your car or van suspension.

Air-conditioning repairs and servicing - R134a systems

If your car air conditioning isn’t working as well as it used to or is letting out a funny smell when turned on it is probably time to get it serviced. Regular checks will ensure that your car air conditioning is working at optimum performance and will keep you cool as a cucumber inside your vehicle. It is recommended that your air conditioning should be recharged every 2 years. The system should also be decontaminated every year to remove harmful bacteria that builds up over a period of time.

Batteries

If you require a new car battery, Peartree Garage provides a full car battery replacement service and
can dispose of your old one for you. Your car battery is at the heart of all your vehicle's electrical
systems, it is the only source of power to get your car started so it's important that you check yours
